    Changing Net Supplier

    Hi all

Bit of help required on trying to change to a new internet supplier.

I am currently with Virgin and they are charging me quite a bit for my internet and line rental and decided to disconnect from them today as recent increase have driven me over the edge.

I was wondering who would you guys recommend?

Would I need to have my new net supplier install a BT new phone line as the current one is for Virgin?

I believe my download speed is 2mb for my area for normal ADSL, is this enough to play smoothly on Play Station Network? My current Virgin net is upto 10mb. Never tested though

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

TBH, its unlikely you are going to be able to touch cable for speed, 10mb users are due to get a free upgrade later this year as well. Don't know if ADSL is quick enough for your game, I suspect you should be alright as long as you or anybody else in the house is using the net for other things at the same time.

I would check out samknows as it can give you a list of providers in your area.

        Cheers guys

am paying 33 for basic tv package (its just freeview channels)
        10mb BB
phone line and evening and weekend calls.

i originally had a great deal but they are not shifting on anything now.

i have said that am leaving and the guy on the other end didnt budge on anything. ...i was quite annoyed. Hoping for them to call back and offer something.

worst part is that i dont even use my virgin phone line but as my net, tv, phone is part of a package and get some sort of discount.

        thanks for your help

Anything other than Virgin Media will need a BT line which costs around 13 quid a month. ADSL service is extra.

You can get cheap ADSL services from the likes of TalkTalk, but reviews are mixed...

Definitely worth considering O2 if you have an O2 mobile - especially if more than 2 years, currently doing a 6 month free offer and you get a fiver off a month if you have O2 mobile.

Check on samknows to see if your exchange has O2 / Be (same network). They usually come out on top of satisfaction surveys, have been with them for a couple of years and highly recommend, very reliable network.
