I know there is plenty of info regarding hacking a wireless network key. However is there any possibility of hacking wireless signal that is being broadcast via satellite or other wireless transmission. For example there is a wireless signal being broadcast in my area from a mast on a nearby mountain, people receiving the broadband use an aerial that looks very similar to an MMDS aerial used to receive cable TV (wireless cable).

[QUOTE=Mjolinor;1349852]Not enough information. If it uses an antenna like MMDS and it is only for internet access then it could be Wifi 802.11X or any one of dozens of other standards or even a bespoke solution that is either licensed or unlicensed.[/Q__UOTE]
_http://www.permanet.ie/New/ I am pretty sure its licensed are any of the standards easily hackable?Comment

Stick to the local stuff. If you live near a McD's, KFC, etc, they offer free wifi. You might need to modify a dish to boost the range on your wifi, but it could be just what you're looking for.
There is evidence on-line at instructables that a correctly setup dish can hold a steady connection over a 1-2 mile distance.Canker

I have a rake of 802.11 wireless links running at more than 10km and they are rock steady giving 25 mbits throughput at IP layer.Stick to the local stuff.
