    network ...?

    Hi,

    I am relatively new to this so I apologize in advance.

    I've got the bog standard router for the internet (its a talk talk) to which I've got connected the tv, popcorn hour and dm 800 hd as well as the pc I'm working on which is connected via wireless. The odd time it may have other pc's connected wirelessly.

    The problem I'm having is the ip address for each seems to get mixed up when 2 or more of the devices are set up.
    Can these be assigned manually and fixed for each one?
    Would it be best that I bought a new router? Whats the difference between the two..?

    Thanks,

    You should be abel to assign static ips to them that should do it, or just restart your router when all devices are switched on that works for me............
    I know you believe you understand what you think i said

      yup, either do as above, set them manually on the device itselff, rather than dhcp.

      or goto 192.168.1.1 and login admin admin.
      you will find section for assigining IP address per mac address, and you could set them that way also.
      (might need to click advanced settings on first talktalk page you come too), worth looking while your in there at the dhcp settings page, you will or should see signs of problems in there

      cheers

        I've gone to 192.168.1.1 and logged in via admin admin.

        I went to advanced option and then..

        Where do I go next?

        Basic -> WAN
        Basic -> LAN
        Basic -> WLAN
        Basic -> DSL

        Which one of the above??
