hi my mates got a netgear wgr614 v6 router and he lost the disk for it,can anyone tell me if my disk for the wgr614 v7 would work to config his, thanks nick!!

Not quite sure why you would need a disk, except perhaps to read a pdf document file. Routers generally dont require any software on pc's etc as they are standalone devices.
For info, simply go to the netgear site and download the appropriate manual. -
what it was,he binned his laptop and bought another and didnt no the password,hes just rang to tell me hes just bought another router from maplin and said i can have his old one,i will register with netgear and see how i get on!! cheers mateComment

For password problems, use the reset button (small pinhole near power jack I think on that model). I think you press it for four seconds or similar to reset to factory defaults, at which point username/password are reset to initial values (you'll need to check on netgear site).
I think netgear also have live-support on their site so maybe just ask them how about the process.Comment
