    Homehub 3

Is my homehub the reason for constant latency jumps or is it my ISP? I have usually around 20ms-30ms on speedtest.net and 40ms-60ms ingame but very often this will shoot up to 150ms and stay there for a while before dropping back to the usual latency. I will also get massive stuttering when streaming to my PS3 sometimes but other times it'll be perfect.

I don't want to buy a new router to find that there was nothing wrong with the one I have.

    What connection are you using?

    Wireless?
    Cat5
    Cat6?

Wired fully isn't an option so it's currently on homeplugs but wifi has same trouble.

That could well be your problem.

The homeplugs are direct into mains an not through any extension leads?

Yep. Direct to mains. Pc is 15m away and upstairs so would be a tripwire. Lol

The only way to rule out the home plugs would be to run a wire or move the pc closer to the hub.

Who is your isp, it could be worth a call but they could just say traffic is heavy or network upgrades.

Keep an eye on times, and whats connected to the hub when its happening, my guess though will be homeplugs are the issue and need to be ruled out
