be aware if you upgrade to version > 8.2x

Keep in mind that if you want to install FW > 8.2x you might need extra ram in your ASA (>=2GB) or it'll mess up your nat tables and firewall rules.
Anyway it'll mess up your nat rules as cisco invented 'unidirectional' so after an upgrade you have to review your nat rules.
        And read the upgrade notes!

          Mmeory upgrade.

          Hi,
I'm a newbie newbie and I'm trying to upgrade my ASA to v8.4 (from 8.2). My first prob. is how do I find out the current memory on the ASA . I can access the current config via ASDM ...but it doesnt mention RAM. Any ideas?
          regards and thanks in advance
          PT

                      Thanks!

Cisco contract expired after I upgraded IOS but
I forgot to grab the updated asdm file with it. Cisco is losing me as a customer for stranding me and then demanding more money for something I have already paid for and should have access to!!

I've tried numerous programs that are supposed to extract BIN files and and I'm getting nowhere. How do you install this? Thanks!
