i have a desktop pc upstairs i have a dreambox downstairs they are both connected to the web via router and some comtrend wireless adaptors
i have three cable feeds into the house one to my cable modem upstairs which is split to a eurovox and two downstairs one for phone and one split between a dreambox and a v+ box
can i get another modem and connect this directly into the dreambox as well as keeping the modem upsatirs and doing away with the router
if yes
1, will virgin know and does it matter if they did?
2, will my ip address be the same for both modems?
3, how would i connect my pc to the box for example ftp of files?
4, would i need to change my dns account?
if its all possible what modem will do the job and how do i make them talk to each other like they are now through a wireless connection and router
