    upgrade your router firmware

I've been experiencing problems with certain websites loading very very slow. I put it down to the host or even my router.

So I decided to upgrade the firmware on my Linksys WRT54G wireless router and BAM!!!! All websites loading super fast now!

I could always get 20MB+ downloading from torrents and rapidshare but was just some websites that were slow.

    We'll see how it goes.

    Happy days are here again!

        It's a version 5 WRT54G and was running v1.00.0 firmware. After upgrading it's now 1.02.0 firmware, dated 09/2007.

I use DD-WRT on my Linksys WRT54GL. You can use it on your WRT54G depending on the version number. I went for the GL because it uses an open source Linux firmware.

                  Updated my WRT54GS yesterday.
It may be wishful thinking but I think my internet connection is definitely running a lot faster.

                  Cheers
There is no tomorrow..... it's simply two days after yesterday !

I've got a WRT150N, and have had to use a Linksys Beta firmware, because it's got so many issus with the final firmware releases. It only took about five "Live Chat" sessions to get the issue resolved...!

I've used DD-WRT, but my favorite is Tomato. All the features packed into that firmware make the wrt54g saweeeeeeet!

i use a sweex wireless router which does not require any drivers or software on my laptop. its very fast 10mb on vm and never gave me any problems after 5 years of constant use. iphone connects no worries too, and was only 29.99 from independant pc shop.

DD-WRT is much better and faster than the original linksys firmware.
