Ok my first question to you is, what size hard drive do you want? A 2TB or a 1 Gig? As for purchasing it, I would go for a 2Gig or larger. Do you already have a NAS System set up? Also to be able to gain access to them you are going to need a static IP or use Dynamic DNS to get to them when you are away from home.

        its a 2tb hdd with a 1gb transfer rate.
my router will allow me to set a static ip address ok.
i have bought one now, i got a iomega ix2. have set it up, as a network around the house.
so my next qquestion is, will i need a dydns account. or will it be a question of port forwarding on my router, when i want to access it when i am out and about?
