cant connect to certain sites using wireless adapter

i recently bought this for my sister to connect her old laptop to her router eBay.ie: MINI WIRELESS WiFi 11 N USB ADAPTER WLAN NETWORK DONGLE (item 230546715248 end time 02-Feb-11 16:22:24 GMT)

it connects to certain sites like ebay and youtube but wont connect to facebook or hotmail

ive asked the guy that sold it but he says it should

anyone have any idea what i need to do like turn of something or deselect something in router?

    cheers

sounds like browser secutiry levels or router settings need looked at.

She doesn't have any parantal control software to stop the kiddies getting access to certain sites?

start out by checking the security settings.
Im still on xp so if she is on win 7 it might be a bit different
go to "control panel" and "security settings" and then the "internet options" and have a look and see if there are any restricted sites and also have a look at firewall settings in there too

ok check out the browser settings first
How to Block a Website in Internet Explorer 7 - wikiHow
have a read at that and check if there are any websites blocked in IE

you could always try downloading another browser like firefox and trying that out just in case
