    Format & Reinstall Windows 7

Hello, guess what. Last week, yeah, I decided to format my pc and re-install Windows, something I've done a few times without incident since I got hold of Windows 7.
My disc has also been used to load 7 onto various other machines too without incident so I know I've not got a dodgy copy
However, this time I got an error message telling me that a key driver for cd/dvd drive is missing.
All drivers / bios and blah blah blah etc. are up to date and there is bugger all wrong with my dvd drive or, indeed, any other piece of hardware.

    What's all that about then?

An empty promise of smarties awaits the one who can answer my boggle

Can you do a repair off the install disk?
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

a scratch on your windows disc just at the right point when it loads cd/dvd drive drivers could be the prob, copy your install disc and give that a go
