Another vote for easy recovery pro, it it can't get the files back then there is little hope. I can scan for file types so can recovery fragmented data as well. To do a deep scan on a large drive can take over a day or even longer.

As an aftermath task and a warning to everyone. make sure you always have two copies of your critical data. Hard drives can fail at anytime or get hit by virus or even stolen.

I should of said Mate, Make sure you are saving what it finds to a different Hard drive if you haven't done so already. don't save to the HDD you are scanning

I didn't see anyone mentioning this but make sure you don't write anything to the drive you are trying to recover. Sorry if i'm stating the obvious.

You can try to recover using different settings. Depending on the settings you've checked, the files it can find are different. I've tried recovering from a drive with a file system such as NTFS on it and a drive that had been formatted and were able to recover some files on both. I actually tried multiple settings multiple times on the NTFS and then formatted it and tried it that way also. I don't recommend you formatting your drive though. I was okay with losing my data. One thing though, some files may be merged together. I forgot what file types got merged because it was a while back. =/

Although it is looking like a physical failure to me, which is bad news, I have had great results with 'GetDataBack' many times..
