    toshiba L40 x10

    hi guys

    wonder if any 1 can help me i reformated my laptop clean instal of win vista it loaded fine when i go to windows update to let the updates load they do but when it reboots it gos dead i.e. windows wont load and i need 2 star over agan

    tried it with win 7 same again loads fine but after win update finish it reboots and gos dead any help would be gratfull

    How long did you leave it for, after applying service packs and updates it could take some time to get to logon screen while inuse files are updated.

      as i said it reboots gos 2 bios then a blank screen and the hdd light dose nothing it like it hangs and the only way 2 get it going again is to instal again ive just reinstaled win 7 i know if i let it update again it will hang everythings fine untill i let the updates instal

        i know what you've done i have encountered this problem myself b4
        when u install a fresh windows do u select every update avalible and download the lot then restart? if so dont only select afew updates at a time say all the security then reboot then select all the definition updates and reboot and so on

          sorry mate i have tryed that 10 at a time it instals like the first lot of 10 then on the 2nd lot it says windows is instaling update 1 of 3 then it gets to 2 of 3 reboots then hangs its like it gets 2 a certin update then dies

            ok only other suggestion is that u download win7 sp1 then you'll almost be upto date
