Toshiba Satalite A30 keyboard problem

Hi iam trying to fix my mates laptop.it seems to have a problem when you press certain keys,every thing is ok untill i press the letter P it gives a - sign and other keys in this area of the key board dont respond,can any one help

I've had this problem before, what happens is certain keys operate the ones next to them, can be either side or above or below.
how I fixed it was (using notepad to see what happens) hold the key down until it starts continuously printing the correct letter, you have to do this a number of times as they start to work intermittently and then eventually they work properly.

I think you need a new keyboard,instead.Not difficult to change.

get new/ used keyboard its ~~~~ed, from flea bay about a tenner. changed one from a50 about 2months ago quite easy really,now as new.
