no wireless icon in network connections

i have moved house and on powering up my computer there is no icon in network connections it was okay before i moved house. my laptop is showing 6 wireless connections where my tower has no icon. I have checked in device manager and all seems okay. i thought the move may have loosened the wireless card i have checked this and all seems okay. any help would be much appreciated.

what operating system are you on, can you not set up a new wireless connection?

To make a wireless connection from a desktop or notebook PC running Windows Vista, select Start > Connect To. The Connect to a network dialog box appears. Click the Set up a connection or network link and follow the prompts.

To make a wireless connection from a desktop or notebook PC running Windows XP, select Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, and then click the Wireless Network Connection icon to open the Wireless Network Connection dialog box. Follow the prompts to connect to the wireless network.

I see what your saying now, you have no icon because you haven't got a connection.

have you subscribed for a connection with your provider for the house you have just moved into

go to device manager , see if its lost the wireless card , should show a yellow triangle ,if so remove card clean connections and refit then update driver and install original driver for it .
