Just thought i'd post this because ive noticed a lot of people around getting those viruses from clicking on webpages that bring up a popup saying "Security threat" or somesuch, (including myself, ive had about 5 popups this week (and not the good kind 
)).
im not an expert or anything but this always works for me,it should nip in the bud before it become a problem you have to borrow a computer to post asking for help about.
As soon as the popup appears on screen. STOP EVERYTHING. Under no circumstances click where it says close or exit or anything else on the popup.
You need to open your Task Manager (click Cntrl, Alt, Delete). i cant remeber coming across one at this stage that prevents you doing that (at least until you have clicked on it). Use the "End Task" on on the task manager to close the popup and/or your browser.
if you are using mozilla when you reopen it and it wants to restore you previous session make sure you unclick the page that cause the problem (or start a new session)
i cant recreate the problem on Opera or IE with the one im looking at now but if i come across another one on them ill update if there is any different step.
Anyway hope this pops into your mind next time you get a popup!
