frezing on start up.

Got a dell optiplex 320 and on start up when loading on the bios screen showing which version it has frezing every time a quater of the way through bypassed hdd but still does the same thing im thinking mother board any words of wisdom from any 1 welcome..........

Do you mean it's freezing during the POST screen at startup?.. also when you say freezing, do you just mean nothing is happening/booting.. or is pc completely freezing?

Can you enter the bios? it's usually F2 or Del key(should tell you what key it is if you look very closely when booting)

If you can get into the bios settings, have a good look for an option to load "optimal" or "default" settings, then save... sometimes it can be on "best performance" configuration and it can glitch and give boot probs

May not sort you.. but just something to try.

Thanks 4 the advice mate it must be the post screen then f2 f 12 can see in the corner but cant enter them because as soon as f2 f12 show on screen thats when it freezes...............

Unplug all leads except power monitor and keyboard. Have known some usb devices to cause freezing on bios post

I wud start ro unplug extra hardware. Hard drives disk drives ect to see what's causing the freezing

Disconnected the hdd and dvd drive still the same its got to the MB thanks to every one 4 your words nice 1..........

Reset BIOS/CMOS, use jumper or pull battery.
