Lappy Crashing

Had a problem with my lappy for past 9 months. Sure its a over heating problem, but not sure.
I have stripped it down, and was hoping to find a clogged up fan, but not so. Using compressed air I gave it a blast and re-assembled it, and tbh, it did seem better. Not crashing half as often.
Still doing it tho, BSOD's, and just freezing.

The last BSOD was 5 mins ago, first the mouse stopped working (touchpad still worked) and then the BSOD.
THe BSOD screen aint on that long, but BUGCODE_USB DRIVER was mentioned.

on the start up after the crash, I have a report 'Windows experienced a problem', here is a copy and paste

I have tried removing RAM, but it still does it.

Another question.. The .dmp file, what program can I use to view it?

Download and try PC check, That'll scan all your hardware and tell you if there's a hardware fault. If all your hardware passes with PC Check then it'll be a software fault. What OS are you using?

os WAS vista.. when it started crashing.
I did a reformat... but struggled to get it to stay uncrashed enought to load OS on. So I put Ubuntu 10.10 on.
I have since junked that and am on Win7 now... and its the most stable its been, but still not ultra reliable.

Its a Samsung P400 core2duo processor.
Win7 home 32 bit
2Gb ram, 1Gb in at the min, need to put the other back in.

when you disassembled the lappy did you check under the processor for the silver grease i've had problems like that before with the grease burning away causing the processor to heat up or it may be your version of win 7 i'm using win7 ultimate which has got all the fixes i can send you a copy for you to try if you like

Its had about 3 or 4 clean installs, was crashing on the original Vista. I did a DOS Format to get rid of boot manager (with the help of technogeek MJoliner). Dont think it is Software..

Ultimate would be good, thanks for that, but my Home premium is legit, paid for so don't really wanna compromise with getting a cracked copy. Thanks tho.

cool, it must be a hardware problem then because if you've got a legit copy then you'll have all the required updates for the system. keep at it though.
