system restore and reinstall

hi i had the intereval hehe virus which thankfully i managed to get rid of....see intereval hehe thread.....but now my lappy wont do a systems restore .i have tried several times and my lappy says failed due to a un verifed reason.also while i was tryin to get rid of virus i tried to do a reinstalll from a recovery partion. i have a pavillion dv 9000 hence no disc ( i did do back up disc s when i first got the lapy but have ... misplaced them) but the recovery file when clicked said empty. i would be very grateful if any one out there could help me with these two problems incase i ever need to use them in the future ..many thanks ..bigfella

download a copy of vista or xp and do a fresh install mate

boot from CD and format it.

forgot to mention: if you have important work which needs to be backed up then there is 2 ways mate..

1_ burn em to disks

2_ use paragon partition manager and partition the drive and then move the work on the new partition.
