if u have access to another pc, try this

The program is called Login Recovery and it consists of three parts in order to recover your password:
1. First, you download a small application and place it onto a floppy disk or CD. If your computer does not have a floppy drive, then you have to burn the file onto a CD as an ISO image. Even though this sounds fancy, most CD burning software today can burn files as ISO images, so it***8217;s not very complicated other than choosing a different setting when you go to burn. I***8217;ll explain that process later.
2. Once you burn the file, you restart your computer and boot off the floppy or CD. Usually you don***8217;t have to do anything here because computers are already configured to boot off a CD or floppy if it detects that there is bootable media in the drive. The program will display a screen with user names for the computer along with a bunch of numbers separated by commas. Write these down exactly as written including the comma***8217;s and every colon.
You should see the list of user names as shown above. Write down the two lines of numbers for the user name you need the password for. If you just need to get into the computer and can***8217;t remember any of the passwords, write them all down and you can try to recover the password for any of them.
3. Once you write these numbers down, you can go to another computer and go the Login Recovery***8217;s web site, Windows XP Login Recovery - Window password recovery within minutes., and click on the Uploads tab. There you would either upload the text file off the floppy disk or type in the text if you used the CD. Either way will work. Then you wait about 10 minutes and go to the web site and click on the Results tab. Type in your email address and it***8217;ll give you a status on the recovery process.
The Login Recovery process is not guaranteed, especially if the password is complex. I tried it on my computer, but it could not crack it because I have a password that is 10 characters long with upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols! So if you had a password like that, it will be highly unlikely to crack it. However, most people use simple words or short phrases as passwords, so that***8217;s why the site states that almost 98.5% of the passwords submitted were crack successfully!

top tip, use ur car reg for your password.. nice mix of numbers and letters, and easy to remember

apologies.. misread ur post... you can boot from usb stick tho surely? or borrow an external drive from someone?

This guide shows how to make a bootable USB of Windows 10/8/7 operating system to quickly install Windows from a USB drive instead of DVD.

Windows 7 allows us to create a Windows password reset disk (USB key) in case that we lost the Win 7 logon password. When we lose the password of Win 7, we can reset a new one with the created disk. The weak point is that you can only create the disk before losing your Windows 7 password. If you do not create that, it could not help.

If you have an available administrator account on your system, you can get your password back easily. Logon Win 7 system with the admin account, and then you can come to the Control Panel and change or delete other accounts' passwords. Just three steps:

Step 1: Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add or remove user accounts

Step 2: Choose the locked administrator account

Step 3: Click Change the password or Remove the password. And then you can change or remove the lost or forgotten password

If you do not have another available administrator account, you could try some third party software. There is plenty of third party software for password recovery on Windows 7 online. all of them are designed to create a Windows password recovery disk. With the disk you can recover your lost Windows 7 password. I highly recommend Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 and use it as an example. What you need to do is just three steps (you need another computer to create the disk):

Step 1: Download Windows 7 Password Recovery Tool

Step 2: Burn a Windows password recovery disk with the software

Step 3: Recover the Windows 7 password with the disk

I think the most efficient is using third party windows password recovery software. Have a try.
