How do I redo my laptop?

I have a Fujitsu V2045 laptop that I used a kill-disk program to wipe out the hard drive as the sata drive was stuck with a virus for the last 2 years so decided to do something about it. I have all the drivers and XP disc but now the laptop is not recognising the hard drive to install them. I have tried format c: and it does nothing, just comes up with d:

Can someone please tell me what the next step should be to get started on reinstalling the programs and drivers??????

Think the hard drive may need to be partitioned but done know how????

    Thanks

When you insert your OS disk, does it load up to the stage where it tries to install the OS but can not find a HD?

If so, you will need to find drivers for your Sata drive.

BUT - check to see if your machine has a recovery partition, if it does then install your OS from here.

You need a copy of XP with SATA drivers(boot disk)
I just ran in to this a week ago, I had an XP disk but no SATA drivers and it wouldn't recognize the hdd, I found a copy of XP w/sata drivers and worked like a champ.
I got XP form here Windows XP Professional SP3 Integrated Jun 2011 SATA Drivers, Download
and made a bootable disk with Magic ISO.
