whats attached to the usb cable? uninstall it from windows.
control panel>System>device manager
scroll down to usb devices, find yours, right click it and uninstall.
restart windows with device plugged in and driver cd if u have it. windows will auto detect and install drivers

done all that, and it did not work, soft ware did not install, thanks anyway, its a tomtom usb 750 live cable. andy
ok, try NOT using the installation procedure from the disc, just direct windows to the drivers on the disc...
also check pnp and highspeed usb or usb2 are enabled in bios

checked all that in bios, its all ok, i dont have a cd with the tomtom, its says one the box plg and play. andy
go to tom tom site and d/l drivers for ur tom tom..

just an update on this cable,i had to press and hold on off button for 30 seconds, so that the tomtom device can reset it self, after that it asks if you want to connect to computer, you press yes, open up files, click on setup, bingo it loads. hope this helps someone in the future.
