    antivirus

    hi all my sister has just rang me about her computer she thinks she has downloaded somethink she should not have she said her antivirus will not update at all when she goes on the internet she is redirected all the time she has gone in to safe mode to try and delete the last program she put on but its still the same she has put a new antivirus on which will not update at all it says she is disconneted she has looked in her control panel and on the left had side it says digital locker(view purchased software) she hasnt got a clue what this is is there any way she could download somethink to remove what ever it is or does she need to reinstall her computer many thanks

    Firstly your sister, thats usually the common fault most females click stuff they shouldnt.
    If she jumps in safe mode she should be able to stop n delte what the issue is.

    You say she redirected, were too more info would be greatful, give the url were redirected to.

      it could be malware rather than a virus, which av software will not pick up. if she has not already got installed on her pc malwarebytes antimalware software you could start the pc in safe mode with network support and download and install then update it before running a full scan which should find it then remove.

        I think the best one if your sister use Desktop PC...put off the Hardisk and scan it with another computer that have good antivirus (off course update virus dbase)

          If that fails just do a system restore to just b4 it went tits up it usually sorts most things mate.....................

              tell ur sis to go to safe mode ....goto major geeks and download malewarebytes anti maleware...it s free and very good...better than most programmes u pay for ..if she cant get to major geeks u cud download malebytes on a usb stick for her ...run it and i m sure it will sort her problem out
