windows keeps restarting

hello does anu1 know why before i have done a new install i used 2 have this problem that every 2 months when i used 2 start my computer it goes on to when windows xp is loading and used 2 keep on restarting.
by the way i used to have 2 partion of windows xp and know i have deleted 1 will it not carry on restarting again

If your windows keeps restarting than you have a serious problem with your windows. It is possible that you have a problem with your RAM or your hard drive. It would really help if you can see what the error messsage you are getting before it restarts.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2.


Click the Advanced tab.

3.


Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4.


Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5.


Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.


this will now stop restarting and instead you will get a Blue screen of death mate

if the error mesage says: irq less or equal or something similar mate

then it means you have a Faulty Ram mate.

if thats the case then you would need to open the comp up and check how many modules you have mate

if there is 2 then i would take one out and see if the problem occurs and if it doesn't then repeat the process with the next one and so on.

i think the problem that i had was 2 xp's so now i have deleted 1 so i think that solves it
