    Pc keeps on Freezing/Crashing

Hi i have got a 2.4 ghz inter core 2 duo Pc with 2gb ram (running XP)

I have had the computer for about 1 year now and have not had this problem since recently.

Each time i open different programs simultaneously the pc freezes and i can't click on anything, but the cursor still moves.

Which forces me to do a hard reset which is extremely annoying and any unsaved work is lost.

I have updated video card driver and motherboard drivers and perform disk cleanup, still nothing!

Any one experienced this and any suggestions on why this has started happening?

    thanks.

sounds like a faulty hard drive m8 or a virus try doing a repair install of windows by.....if using xp >>>boot from xp cd, go to setup menu after reading EULA press R for repair it will remove all windows system files and re install originals.. this should solve your problem.....If cpu was overheating your full system would crash and if cpu could not handle programs running it would not have in past as your post said above I take it, it handled running these programs fine b4?

A member of my family had this sort of trouble on his laptop,
10 mins after running a program few programs the cursor would show that it was loading something and that was it, you could not do anything after that, apart from like you said, a hard boot...
We found out that he had a Trojan/worm/virus, after running "spybot search and destroy" all was fine..
I still have the program, if you want it I can post it in the PC software thread... :-)

nice one mate, chcuck in spywareblaster which is a bolt on to spybot S&D.

remember to run updates on these apps every week or so ans scan regularly.. Driveby downloads are a bitch.. you have to stay on top of them always..

                Thought it was that...

Get yourself a good antivirus/Firewall to keep them out,
