Dont know if youve done this mate.

You say you have a soundcard, so I am imagining you have a seperate soundcard from built in sound that comes on some motherboards that some people still refer to as a soundcard sometimes even though its not, either way, you still need the correct driver installed for the soundcard or soundchip'set.

Firstly go onto either the motherboard manufacturers website if the motherboard has built in sound and get the driver from there, or goto the manufacturers website for the soundcard if it is a seperate souncard and get the correct driver for the card from there.

Then, download and save the required driver onto your pc for later, and then uninstall any other driver that is already installed first (for sound), after that you can install the new driver.

Once you have done that and if you picked the correct driver etc then everything as far as a driver is concerned should be sorted now.

Then you need to go into skype settings (or whatever other video/chat service you use) and tell the settings to use the mic that you want to use rather than whatever it has chose as default one, you should see the options somewhere.

Other than that you might need to go into your soundcard/chipset software and set it up from there, it all depends on what your using, I have no clue, so I can only guess like I am doing just now.

Hope this helps. let me know.

    cheers.
