DVR NOT RECOGNISED CODE 19

Dvd writer not recognised after installing update from microsoft,tried everything but shows in system device with error code 19, it workd fine b4. Did bios reset and tried to update driver says cannot install this device. Has it gone faulty or am I missing something.

Here is the solution for Device Manager ERROR CODE 19, and other similar errors.
You can no longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive, or you receive an error message after you remove a CD recording program or a DVD recording program in Windows XP: "error code 31"

This shows you how to edit the registry to fix the problem
