vista pc keeps dropping wireless connection to printer

hi all for the second time in a week my vista pc down the stairs keeps dropping the connection to my kodak esp 5200 aio printer and when i go into the kodak setup utility on the vista machine it cannot detect it. the printer says its still connected to the network and the wifi light is on.

the only to resolve it is to go into the wireless network settings on the printer and readd it to the network.

anyone came across this before or could it be an issue with the printer?

had similar issue with a crappy HP printer.. the issue was that the printer software installed on the laptop kept auto updating for some reason and loosing the printer.. I blocked the autoupdate facility in the firewall and also manually set the IP in the printer device properties etc..

i think ive figured it out. it was actually dropping from both pcs the printer was still connected to wifi fine but when the printer goes into sleep mode it disconnects from the pcs i switched the printer off and on it connected no probs
