    dvd/cd not recording

    hi all i have a compaq presario F500 vista business computer but for some reason i can not copy a dvd or a cd!!! i went to my computer clicked on my dvd drive properties a window comes up general is the first one that tells me that my capacity is full there is not even a disc in the drive so am thinking thats why it want let me tape anythink as its full all the time can anyone help me free up the space thanks

    sorry i have noticed when i put a blank dvd/cd it comes up saying that that has all free space but it still will not record

      use ccleaner CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

      clears any unused or crap on you puter also try sys restore if the problem persists look here How to Speed Up My Presario R3000 | eHow.com

        How are you trying to 'record' to the CD/DVD?

        Vista & Windows 7 have a drag & drop function, but the items still need 'Burning' via an icon that appears in the right task bar (bottom right of screen)

          i have ashampoo on my computer and its does its things says everythink done ok but theres nothing on the disc but when i put that cd/dvd in again it comes up that the cd/dvd is not empty any ideas

            U should try another program, but maybe your CD/DVD broke down.
            It's a long way home...

                read clearly mate....it is use to make copy of CD/DVD....the OS no problem....
