    pc problem

i have a problem with my dell quad core pc it was working fine yesturday but today i switched it on and computer goes to screen with dell logo (the one where you can press the "f" key to go to bios)and it goes no further

i have disconnected all the external hardware and tried a reboot this makes no diference i have also put my dell boot up disk in but this does nothing you cant select f2 or f12 for setup or bios so i now dont know what to try

Has any one else had experience of this and can suggest something for me to try (hope the motherboard is not blown)

Have you tried going into your BIOS and setting everything to defaults?

You could also try resetting the CMOS. If there's a jumper for clearing the CMOS, power off the PC and jumper it, then remove it and power back on. Alternatively, you can remove the CMOS battery for 5-10 mins (sometimes longer is required) to clear the CMOS.

perhaps your disc goes into the "pio" mode,go to device manager and see under ide ata/atapi controlers, and under propertis of every disc if current transfer mode is "PIO" and change it. if not possibile, try uninstaling the drivers and rebooting, and do a check disc
