win8 no run Corel Paint Shop Pro 4

When I install Corel Paint Shop Pro 4 in Windows 8, the installation succeeds but when you click on the icon to start the program, It will not run. There is no way I can get it to run. I tried installing Corel Paint Shop Pro 3 and got the same results.help,please.

On Windows 8 I could not get the metro apps to load. My problem was I did not meet this resolution:

1024x768

What type of laptop/destop are you using? if it is a netbook the resolution could be the issue. There are ways to force the above resolution and I did get the apps to function. Also there is the possibility that corel paint is not compatible with windows 8 because it is still in development.
