Problem with Toshiba c660 - Red light ??

Hi all,
Got a ring at work this morning from home saying laptop wouldn't come on.
My missus says there's a red light constantly on. Have googled toshiba laptops but cant get any mention of red light. She removed battery and power, reconnected and started up and Laptop seems to be stuck in self-test mode.
Anyone know what the red light means - have checked out maintenance and user manuals but no luck.
Sorry that this is as much as i can tell at the moment - any help would be appreciated.
