acer laptop not loading past acer logo

    acer laptop not loading past acer logo

    hi guys i have a acer laptop and when i switch it on it gives me the acer logo and the f2 option for accessing the setup but it doesnt do anything else and wont load.

    any ideas?

    Any beeps? Tried pressing f2?

      tried nothing happens unless i power it off and back on and im back to the exact same

        Could be ~~~~ed HDD. Have you tried booting from a CD/DVD?

            Remove hdd from unit, and try to lunch it.
            If it boots ok and go to bios or further then you know where fault was. If not try ram clean/reseat...

              had prob with pc tower running win xp this booted to xp logo on screen then froze there,got the normal one beep on boot.turns out it was one stick of faulty ram i removed and everything back to normal.

                well i removed the ram and reinstalled it and it was the same too the hd out and it worked so put the hd back in and it booted but still got an issue with the hd

                  Replace the hard drive & install the old one as data storage. Once you have everything backed up, format it.

                  If the boot sector is buggered then it will never work correctly as the system drive. But will be fine for storage.
