    printer problems

    hi all,
i have a kodak easyshare 5300 all inone printer.
when printing you can hardly make out what is is printed.

i suspect the print head is bloked or ~~~~ed..

i have cleaned the heads many times on the maintanence feature, but still the same.

other thing i have noticed is that printer sends "ink low" on colour and black ink catridges when there is plenty ink....

what would be my newxt step, can i manually clean them? or do you think summit else is up?

    cheers for any advice..

Not knowing the printer or the setup on your PC.....

Check the print settings on the software you're using. It's possible to to adjust the opacity of the print very easily. It could be set to 20% instead of 100%.

Change the cartridges & prime them. An airlock would cause issues, but not likely to be all colours over 100% of the print.
Blocked jets would also look different. More like a clear band across the print.

I have a similar problem as you with my Epson printer. the prints come out choppy and unreadable. Normally when this happens on an inkjet printer it is just cheaper and easier to get a new one. Something to try though is to take the ink cartridges out and clean what gunk you can with q-tips and alcohol. I will be doing this on mine but I keep holding off (too lazy). Do you print on the printer often? I ask because if the printer sits unused the ink will dry and cause blockage (this happened to mine I dont use it much at all)
