    PC boot up delay

I have recently noticed that my PC is taking longer to boot up at the initial point when you switch it on. The intel board picture comes up then goes, then there's a delay with a black screen. Then, for an instant, the screen flashes up when there's been an error or some kind of anomolous shutdown, but before you've had time to read it it disappears and then starts to boot up.

Anyone any ideas? Possible that my machine is on the way out?

I recently had the svchstb.dll add-on malware problem, went to a specialist site and got some personalised instructions that solved the problem so I don't think that's it.

Perhaps I'm just being paranoid because of that, I'm not sure. When I'm running there are no problems. I've done scans and got the all clear from the techies.

Nope, not a full hard drive. Plenty of space.

I'll keep an eye on it but hopefully I'm just being a bit paranoid because of the recent malware infection!

get a program like whats running this will tell you everything thats booting up on your pc when you start it

then disable all the things you dont want running everytime your pc starts you will probably find you have more running than you think

                    I'm running with 3/4Gb ram. I'm 2.8GHz P4 with a 120Gb HD and an additional 80Gb internal. XP Pro.

It's just me guys, I'm being paranoid. I've switched her on this morning with my stopwatch running, it booted up and my wireless was all connected within a minute. I don't think I could expect it much faster than that TBH.
