help needed

hi every body i ahve recently downloaded winamp and i thought it werent good do i removed it of my windows xp but when i download a mp3 file it has a winamp icon
could any1 helllllllpppppp

You need to change the file association for MP3 files. Can't remember exactly how to do this on XP. You could try right clicking on the file and then choosing open with, select the program you want to open it with, then put a tick in the box to always use this program.

I'm a bit surprised you did'nt like winamp as it is really brilliant once you get into it....did you uuninstall it properly cos if you did'nt this could still leave you with file associations...
