desktop icons problem.........

...........hey guys, last night i downloaded a game from a 'legit' source. played it, didnt like it deleted it, switched machine off.
turned machine on today and my microsoft securuty has been switched off/deleted. gave an error number and suggested a reinstall. took ages, kept kicking it off. and the writing under my desktop icons is transparent, rendering them the same colour as the deskto,p thus unreadable.

any ideas on how to correct it? i have looked through personalization and fonts etc but nothing jumped out to me.

You could try ultimate windows tweaker (this is similar to tweak ui in xp). There should be a tool to repair desktop icons

Try a system restore.

its a dreamscene 7 problem.

all is ok with a standard desktop.

should i delete and reinstall dreamscene?
