Hi
this is the place where you can say hello to all and become part of the community Introduce Yourself
the password is different for all laptops, you need to post all of the tag that ends -595B
was able to 'break' the Admin pword on my Latitude D630
now it wants a HD password. I really want to 'wipe' the HD but even tho some messing about will get me past that rqmt
and into the Setup, it still will not accept my 'wipe' disk. So
I am wondering IF I had a HD pword could I get onto that drive and clean it off? OR, better still, can I wipe the HD without getting past the HD pword?
As you can tell - I know nothing and am thankfull for any help.

I used the 2nd key you supplied and it worked perfectly - thanks again.
Now, and I'm almost afraid to ask - when I get thru to the HD, a logo comes on the screen and gives me the option of several ways to get on wi-fi, but they're all internal to the org. that had this laptop. It just stays there unless I shut down. Is there anyway I can circumvent this? I cannot get the system to recognize any disk or sticks which would give me the chance of wiping the HD or reformatting.

Tom
have you tried setting BIOS to boot from CD and trying from a windows boot disk or something similar
or ry to format it in another PC
maybe you would be better starting a new thread in the PC Problems forum where more people will see your post
