    PC Upgrade question?

I work in IT and am trying to convince my boss to go in a different direction than he wants. Presently our sales force uses Lenovo 1GB RAM laptops with USB modem connections. Some guys use their phones as mobile hotspots. Anyhow, he wants IPAD's w/bluetooth keyboards. I think it's a waste of money. All of our USB modems through Sprint will be due for upgrades in December. I want to upgrade to the Dell 11z Notebooks with built in WIFI. We can get these for 150 bucks each. For 50 bucks I'll take them up to 8GB RAM, rip the 2010 office license off of their laptops with Magic Jelly Bean and maybe install MS 7 Pro for around 75 bucks. That's 275 dollars to have a powerhouse little PC. Who is right. IPAD, which is not PC compatible to our host, and a bluetooth keyboard or my solution of 3 lb, I3 core processor, 8GB ram powerhouses?

Get hold of one of the netbooks & put an Apple logo over every Dell logo & tell him it's a new product just released.

You'd win the technical argument, but he's probably thinking it will look better if they use Ipads. Because everybody knows that if you use an Ipad you must know what you're doing

no way that an IPAD's w/bluetooth keyboards can outsmart a laptop, also, service and support for laptops is much easier.
