      yeh i need to do somat but my files what a f+ckin laugh i think i still got most of em they are backed up elsewhere better to back up in more than one place. gotta go thnx again

                in future stick the drive in, format it to fat (more compatable with everything) and go into its properties and turn of disk caching.

                The operating system caches files temporarily between drives and on removable drives this means that if you pull the drive without propperly stopping the device things can go tits up.

                Also make sure its not enabled for "readyboost" under vista as this causes a lot of read writes to go on and generaly corrupts common NAND flash sticks.
