    Havein problems with my computer..

Well i brought a computer from a computer fair about 8 months ago, and It keeps freezing after using the computer for a few hours, and sometimes it happens right from the get-go when i turn it on in the afternoon. im sure its nothing to do with virus's as im very virus aware.
Its gotta be some component inside the computer that's letting me down, i have tried different hard drive's still the same bs.
I dunno what to do to fix it any ideas?

have you checked the fans on the case, the cpu, and the graphics card?
start your pc in safe mode. disabling software one by one so as to remove them from the list of possible causes.
a fresh install of windows might be the order of the day.

What version of winodws have you installed vista or xp. If you've installed xp then your computer might require some drivers in order for you to get to recognize the internet connection. I suggest writing down the make/model of your comp then using someone else's comp to download the drivers from the appropriate site and saving them to a flash drive. Then install them on yours, Hope this helps.

good answer lanxman, but i suspect this pc is a custom build. my suggestion is download sisoft sandra and install it on your pc. this will give you all the information on what drivers you require.

If you could post more information about the pc spec would be good to.
Also forget using more 3rd party software to get the info when you get from within wondows itself using the system information.
I suspect here its the gfx card, is it onboard, agp or pcie.
Try changing that (borrow 1 off a friend who has a compatable 1)
Also does the event veiwer say anything is wrong?
To access that either right click on My Computer and then to manage or goto run and type 'eventvwr.msc'

But i think its 1 of the components insde so start taking them out 1 by 1 and swapping them.

            Hope this helps you out

The mother board is GF7050-m2 BIOSTAR
it has 2 ram sticks each 1gb each
it came with 500 gb maxtor hard drive sata that seems to pick up my internet connection when i reinstall windows
but last time i tried to reinstall windows during formatting the drive it said some kinda error, so that made me think its the hd but i had same problem a long time ago when i tried to use the Hitachi drive..
but never the less after the maxtor didn't work i tried it on the Hitachi 300gb and it worked but wont pick up my broadband

download hirens boot cd and run memtest, maybe you have a faulty ram module

suprised no one has suggested this yet, but boot into bios and run a memory diag check. or try running the laptop for a few hours at a time with just 1 strip of RAM in then switch it and test again

excuse that, I completely missed shadowmanrg's post! Apologies! doh!

I need to know what sort of crash this is, is it a bsod? does it freeze? shut down and wont power on?

If its a bsod, i would google the error code you will get on it.
Freezes more than likely ram motherboard or gfx
Shuts down wont power on more than likely over heating.

When i have more information i can help you further
