    csrcs.exe problem

    Hi,
    I have window XP system.Ii downloaded a drama from friends computer.
    My AVAST advised me that I have a virius and it scanned the system. Since then every time I start my computer following message appears "csrsc.exe application cannot run in win32 mode".
    Can anyone help me to fix this?

    you do "not" have a csrss.exe in your Windows folder.

    The only one(s) you should have will be in;

    C:\Windows\System32 , and possibly in
    C:\I386, and
    C:\Windows\$NTServicePackUninstall$, and
    C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 folders.

    If you have one in C:\Windows, you have a virus, such as the Trojan.Gutta or W32.Netsky.AB@mm or W32.Buchon.A@mm or Backdoor.Botnachala virus.

    update your virus definitions in your antivirus and do a scan

      This should sort it.

      Click Start>Run/

      * Type regedit and press enter.

      * Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Micros* oft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

      * Right click on winlogon and select export.

      * Save the reg file to a location incase you need to undo the following changes.

      * In winlogin look for shell and double click on it.

      * Change the Value from "Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\csrss.exe" to just "Explorer.exe".

      * Save changes and logout and log back in.

      Restart Computer..and Enjoy[]
