    Pavillon DV6 wdoes not start

Hi, I used my dv6 until last night, this morning I turn it on, the screen remains black and the Caps Lock and Num Lock are flashing all the time, I unplugged everything and tried to put my memory modules but nothing, I kept the power button without the battery connected for 3 minutes off and then reconnected my computer still refuses to start what to do, thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards
Imagination is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited ... while imagination creates the world.

This is a common issue for dv6000/9000 series laptops.

    1. unplug power, take out battery
    2. hold start button for 30 sec to a minute
    3. plug the power in and start without the battery
    4. if it starts and you have video, put battery back in
    5. if it doesn't work the first time try a few more

If this fails to fix the issue then the other options are:

    1. get a heat gun, disassemble laptop, try to re-solder the video chip to the board (do at your own risk!) If you want to try this, youtube has video instructions

    2. get a new mainboard

      Hi!!

I have had a few laptops of this model and its mainly the mother card that is broken so if you did not try what last poster say then its wort testing it because you will still end up buying a new anyway if that not work.

      Good Luck!!
