    Usb too slow

    All,

Help needed, my son has bought a cap reader, basically its the usb reader for the xbox, but when it's trying to read or capture video its blank, the error messsage is the usb is requesting more memory, also the usb tray icon states this usb device can run at 2.0 but it won't run at 2.0 on any of the usb's on his pc.

Is there anything i can do to increase the usb speed

Maybe a daft question because it runs on his xbox but does it require drivers of some sort to run on pc?
How old is your son's pc? Usually if the pc tells you it can run at 2.0 it's because the usb ports in the pc are only usb 1.0.

The drivers are installed and the video software is running,

The pc is old but i would of thought it could cope, amd 2400 processor, 1 gig ram, not sure how to check if the usb is 1.0 or not, the message just states this device can run quicker, change it to a 2.0 usb port ??

That may be the cause of the problem mate, It might not be able to run on usb 1.0
If the pc is old it's likley the usb ports are usb 1.0
you can buy usb 2.0 pci cards for next to nothing mate, Buy one of those and it will probably run.
