If your AVG Free 8 is having trouble connecting to the server or you're working on a PC that doesn't have a current internet connection, you can update the virus and spyware definitions manually.
Download the latest updates from the AVG website:
AVG Free - Download update
On your AVG machine:
Click on Tools.
Choose Update by directory, then point it to the directory where you saved these files.
Follow the prompts and it will update. It can't be easier than that!
