    vista shutdown

    hi guys, can anyone help me with this strange prob, my comp has recentley started to shut down when first booted in the morning, so this is wot i have to do to get it bk on.

    start in safe with net,or

    last best config, or

    normal boot,

    but until one of these r done comp wont start, any idea,s.cheers.chris....

    Sounds like your not letting it shutdown correctly. Select shutdown then leave it to power off totally.

    IF you have, then check for any ms updates for vista (i'd dump that though and either go back to xp or goto 7) There could be something stopping it from shutting down all the way.

    You could check the system logs in the event viewer by going to run and typing eventvwr.msc see if anything is there

      hi cunny, did wot u said accsesd the avent log far to much in there to post there,s error this error that there,s all sorts of stuff recorded in there so think its best to wipe drive and start again using the f10 button, dont realy wont to put xp on and cant afford 7, cheers for reply m8.chris..
