you'ld need to find out what cpu u have... bios will tell you, then gogle to see if its 32 bit or 64 bit.. or just stick 32bit windows on it..

you can goi into my computer then system properties/ then scroll down itl tell u how much ram on pc. 512meg 1 gig 2 ig ect. if under 3 gig its 32 bit for sure also u need min 1 gig with 32bit to run win 7
are you taking the piss? ram has no bearing whatsoever on how many bits his cpu has

guys its 4gb ram and bought it without a windows now ive put an xp on but what bit for the windows 7 should i buy?
i just put an xp on as i had a virus. now its rebooted and i doubt i put the right xp bit on just want to buy windows 7 and totaly confused wich one i need and will work best plz help
just stick windows 32 on it for now.. you have 4gb of ram, 32 bit will see it as 3.25gb , the missing 764mb wont be missed..

how do u mean for now? will that br the best decision? its a gaming computer and if i buy windows 7 i want to make sure its the right one mate is there anyway of checking?
of couse theres a way of checking.. like i told you in my first post.. enter bios (turn on pc and press a button... usually delete or one of the f keys, it will tell you which on screen..) cpu info will be on there.. find it and report back

Start it up and press DEL or F1 or f2, whatever it is to go into the BIOS. There should be a 'general' screen in there informing you what processor, how much memory you have etc.
