        There is a program called "CPU-Z" that can identify if a CPU is 32 or 64 bit. A 64 bit CPU can run 32 bit programs and operating systems (not the other way around). So even though you may have a 64 bit CPU you may be running a 32 bit version of windows XP and no 64 bit programs can run.

          just google "belarc advsor it will give you a complete rundown of your computer inc progs/lic-keys/32/64 compatability etc

            easy way to tell if pc is running 32/ or 64 bit is to right click on computer icon in start menu select properties. in the window that pops up if it 64 bit it will show, if 32 nothing about bit rate is shown.
