Concern about capability of virgin super hub

As i said, above i have the super hub. My son inlaw might coming down to sort my hub out for me ( if he can). The trouble I'm having is it takes forever to load a page or it disconnects. When i stream a movie, it buffers a lot or as i said disconnects. Regardless of this i notice I'm still online and whenever this occours i do a speed test and i get 27mg or more.There are also problems when i go online in the living room no more than one person at a time can get use it should it be xbox ps3 or laptop. That not excluding the other problems that are indured. Can the hub be be reset or is there an on going problem with this brand. If so what can virgin replace it with, it is a pain in the arse, i kid you not. Hopefully you can give me an answer before wastes a trip coming down later this evening.

people do have problems with them, id ask vermin for a new one, id also see if anyone else is jumping on your wireless connection

Had it checked its secure, ring them later to day see if they replace it if it can't be sorted.

you can always set it to modem only and use a different router, or flash it with dd-wrt but dont think vermin would approve

Vermin will send you a modem only if you ask. Their hubs are truly shite.

go into router settings make sure wireless is set at 145mbps and not 300mbps. as mj says though they are shite

we got 1 of them off virgin n to be honest av had no problems with it at all - no different from the modem i had off em before hand

I got a super hub and I have problems using wifi called vermin and they said its to far from computer but never had that problem with old modem and netgear router in same place.Was getting 2mb download speed using wifi plugged in ethernet and speed was 47mb

I think some people unfortunately get quirky ones, I would guess most people get perfectly fine super hubs... Mine works like a dream, and the 5ghz range on it is fantastic..

Like Bann said, demand a replacement, as from what you say yours clearly isnt working correctly for you.

Sorted in bedroom doors closed and going like lightning. I was sharing with half of europe, i'm now on a signal of my own. He tweaked a few other things and told me if i had any more bother it would be replaced. He left note recommending that be done. But crossed legs no bother so far. THANKS FOR YOUR POST FOLKS.
