can not install antivirus on an infected pc

on my desktop PC, my antivirus avira no longer worked, so I uninstalled to reinstall it. Unfortunately, he does not want to install (the installation starts and disappears abruptly). I tried with other antivirus the same result.
how to fix this problem. windows xp sp2
    thanks in advance

your pc can be infected with a worm, trojan that can do this,it can be very hard to get rid of,try one thing,go to this site and download and run,
HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan

see if it can clean virus out pc.in your case dont do quick scan do the full scan.

but be ready to do a complete reinstal of windows, but drive will have to be scrubbed first.

i do not know if this issue has been sorted
      or not

have the following apps on your computer
desktop or disk ready to install.

Your AntiVirus Software - which you already
      have.

      Anti Spyware Software
      if you need one
      Super Antispyware Free edition
      SUPERAntiSpyware.com - Downloading File

      Anti Malware Software
      Malware Bytes Free Edition
Thank you for downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from CNET Download.com

Registry Cleaning Software And PC Optimization

      CCleaner

      Start in Safe Mode

      unsure how?
Starting Windows XP in Safe Mode:

install your apps run scans with the anti virus spyware and malware software
remove any threats and then after that run ccleaner to clean your registry.

        Hi,
If all of those softwares don't work, you have to format the Hard disk and then install windows.

the best option is to backup all your'e data and wipe the harddrive..
the same amount of time will go with the an anti spyware
                and it's more secure
